Moving from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Jasper was a bit of an elevation shock to the system, but there is nowhere I would rather be right now. Teaching music in Jasper has been a dream of mine since I first came to work for the summer in 2010. The opportunity to not only live in this amazing place but to teach something I am so passionate about, is surreal.

I will be teaching Sr. Band, Jr. Band, Sr. Drama, Guitar, and English 8A. Within each of my classes I hope to instil not only a love of music but an appreciation and understanding of environmental sustainability, FNMI culture and traditions, adventure and exploration, and respect for self and others. My classroom is a safe environment for all students to have open and considerate dialogues.

My qualifications were delivered by the University of Saskatchewan:

B.Ed (Social Studies); B.Mus. (Music Education)

In addition to my studies at the university I received private piano instruction from Professor Kathleen Solose (M.Mus., Juilliard) for four years.

I also received my Interpretive Guide Certificate for Banff/Yoho last summer and love showing people around our mountain parks.

When I'm not in the classroom you can find me out on the trails with my camera, paddling my kayak, playing softball, snowshoeing around Maligne Lake, blogging, playing my piano, or learning how to ski (always a good laugh for my spectators).

Parents and students, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. Let's have a great year!
